We believe that small business is the backbone of our economy. The numbers prove it: 48 percent of all US employees work for small businesses and 18 percent of all employees work for businesses with fewer than 20 total employees. The entrepreneurial spirit is what helped create our nation. One of the greatest parts of our American freedom is the ability to determine our own destiny.
Most small business owners have made many sacrifices to see their dream become reality. Long hours away from family, some risking their life savings, investing equity from their homes, or even starting with little more than a dream and a willingness to work as hard as necessary for as long as necessary to succeed. The journey is both rewarding and terrifying at the same time.
The restrictions and shutdowns due to Covid have created a no-win situation for hundreds of thousands of businesses and millions of people who work for them. Government assistance has only provided a small amount of help. People are at risk for losing everything they have worked so hard to create.
We believe the drag racing community is the absolute best in coming to the aid of people in need. We have witnessed on countless occasions when a racer or fan is in trouble, our community rallies around them to provide support. We also know that everywhere we race, we provide a boost to the local economy.
Let's work together to help local businesses everywhere, but especially where we race. Let's choose local "mom & pop" shops and restaurants. Let's share their businesses on our social media to encourage race fans to join us in our effort to help them. Let's show the world just how amazing the drag racing community can be.
We need to act now. Every donation goes directly to help the businesses in the #RacersToTheRescue program. Every dollar counts.
